About Peter

I have been engaged in the art of traditional blacksmithing for about thirty five years. I have,

over the years purchased and collected much in the way of heritage blacksmithing forges, anvils and relevant tools.  These items and tools are displayed and operational in my heritage style workshop where I teach the same blacksmithing techniques as were used by our very skillful and resourceful pioneering blacksmiths. Hammering and shaping hot metal over an anvil has always appealed to me to the point now where it has become a serious and addictive occupation. Working hot iron over an anvil not only fires the imagination, but also challenges one’s creativity. With the advent of modern engineering practices, the Blacksmithing trade is sadly now in decline and almost a thing of the past. However, for this reason, I am determined to pass on my hard earned skills to any person who is seriously interested.

I have over the years enjoyed making hundreds of assorted articles, some of it from recycled steel and have also enjoyed it's monetary rewards. What started as a hobby, has become a passion:

“Blacksmithing is a wonderful and challenging pastime combining the elements of fire, hot steel, sweat and determination. For me, blacksmithing is spiritually uplifting, where the individual is only limited by their imagination. Come and join this wonderful experience.”
